Building your dream home should be an experience full of delight. Your journey will begin with the sales stage, which includes obtaining a mortgage pre-approval, choosing and creating your wish list for your new home, and picking the perfect lot to build your home.
From here we complete a quote and professionally designed drawing of your home, and write your contract. Once your contract conditions are fulfilled, you’re ready to move on to home planning. This is where your vision will start to come together! Through several meetings with your experienced home planner, McKee Homes will send blueprints to our suppliers while you book appointments to select your appliances, countertops, cabinets, flooring, and each intimate detail of your home’s finishings. At your second meeting, your home planner will review any samples you have collected, and you will book electrical and lighting appointments. Once your permit has been approved, we will have a final sign off meeting to get construction underway. And now the fun part—watching your home move from concept to reality!
Our story begins in Airdrie in 1981. Having recently arrived in the area and yearning for a feeling of home., Martin McKee, an immigrant from Northern Ireland, stopped for lunch in Airdrie with his wife, Ruth. The immediate sense of community convinced them that this was the town they would call home, and raise their two daughters, Elaine and Grace.
Initially founded as McKee Construction in 1987, the name later evolved to McKee Homes, to more accurately reflect our business. With each new home, McKee built his reputation and his company, attracting loyal clients and employees alike. That company helped build the city we still call home today.
Building on a foundation of quality, honesty, and integrity, McKee Homes has become one of the most highly sought after Airdrie home builders.
